Biographical Information
After many years as an adjunct instructor and a short experience as an administrator, I am pleased to say that I am became a full time instructor of Psychology and Sociology August 2009.

My educational journeys have taken me to several areas of study. I entered my freshman year of college at NCCC and Transfered to Bloomsburg University where I earned a Bachelors degree in Sociology/Criminal Justice with a concentration in Children, Youth, and Family. After working with juvenile offenders and considering Law as an option I earned  a Paralegal Certificate from the Paralegal Institute of America, Inc. After much consideration, I decided that I would pursue the counseling field instead and went to Kutztown University for  a Masters degree in Secondary School Counseling. I maintain my certification as a secondary school counselor through act 48 credits (continuing education). I began working on my PhD in the Spring of 2008 in General Psychology and have passed my comprehensive exams. I am now in the dissertation phase of my program. I am also credentialed as a HS-BCP (Human Services Board Certified Practioner).
I have worked with infants and toddlers in preschool settings. I have interned in probation and worked in a detention facility with adjudicated juvenile delinquents. I have interned as a school counselor and taught study skills to middle school students. I have worked a tutor coordinator in a university tutoring program, an instructor for college students, and the Director of Learning Communities and Faculty Development. I have been a co-leader and consultant for Beths MS Group working with people living with chronic illness. I have also worked with the elderly at a call center. It is hard to say which I enjoy the most. They have all contributed greatly to my learning and have each been wonderful experiences.
I am the advisor for the GSA Pride LCCC club and a Safe Zone Trainer. I provide training and presentations to faculty and staff regarding our club and our mission to support the needs of our LGBTQI population.  I have presented at workshops and done presentation on human sexuality for organizations and as a guest speaker. Most recently I began writing for an online magazine as a sexpert in addition to working on my own website.
I am fortunate to have a career I love and the best students always find there way to my class ;)
