Does My Article Meet My Instructor's Requirements?
§ Is this a periodical intended for nurses?
o Check the publisher, table of contents, professional degrees of the writers, et cetera.
§ Is this a periodical respected in the nursing field or is it someone’s personal webpage, an independent newsletter, or a commercial website?
§ Is it a publication published in the U.S., Canada, Great Britain, or Australia?
o Check the information near the citation and abstract, or the information at the end of the article, or click on the publication's title for the publisher’s address or at least a country of origin.
§ Was it published in the last five years?
o Check the top and bottom of the article.
§ Is the content appropriate?
o Is this the entire article (full-text) or only an abstract?
o Is this information that can be applied to your work with your patient?
o Does this article contain sufficient information to answer your clinical learning guide or clinical paper?
